The Good News About Jesus

Whatever it is, God has made a way for you in Jesus Christ.

At Village Parkway, we believe the most

important message anyone can ever

hear is the the gospel - the "Good News

of what God has done for us in Jesus.

Why We Need Good News

God created us to know Him and life in a relationship with Him. But the Bible makes it clear that “all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). Sin is more than just breaking God’s rules—it’s living apart from God and going our own way.

Because God is holy and just, sin must be dealt with. “The wages of sin is death” (Romans 6:23). Our sin leads to our death. This means that we earn separation from God not only in this life, but forever.

No amount of religious activity, good works, or moral efforts can bridge the gap between us and God. (Ephesians 2:8-9)

God’s Gracious Answer

But God, in His great love, did what we could never do for ourselves. He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to live a perfect life and die, in our place, the death we earned because of our sin. “But God shows His love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8)

On the cross, Jesus took the punishment we deserve. He bore our sin and paid our debt in full. Three days later, God raised Him from the dead, proving His power over sin and death and making everlasting life with God possible for all who believe.

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16).

The Two Kingdoms

There are ultimately two kingdoms: humanity’s broken ways or God’s perfect design. We all have lived in the brokenness of our own sin, but through Jesus Christ we can be restored back to God’s design.

This is the turning point. God calls each of us to repent (turn away from sin and self and turn to God) and believe (trust in Jesus alone for the forgiveness of your sins and as your Lord and Savior.

“If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved” (Romans 10:9).

Your Response

This good news about Jesus is not just information—it demands a response from each of us.

You must personally:
Admit your sin and need for forgiveness
Believe that Jesus died and rose again for you.
Confess Jesus as Lord and surrender your life to Him.

Salvation is a gift. We cannot earn it, but we must receive it.

“For by grace you have been saved by faith. and this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God” (Ephesians 2:8).

Will You Trust Jesus Today?

If this makes sense to you, won’t you please pray and let God know you trust in Jesus Christ alone?

Pray this sample prayer:
“Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner and I cannot save myself. I believe You died on the cross and rose again for me. I turn from my sin and ask You to forgive me. Today I place my trust in You alone as my Lord and Savior. Make me the person You created me to be. Amen.”

Praying those words doesn’t save you—but turning from sin and trusting in Christ does.
