Village Parkway Mother's Day Out (MDO) is a part-time Christian pre-school program for children age birth thru 4 years of age. Our mission is to provide for the care and development of each child spiritually, mentally, physically, emotionally, and socially.
Our objectives are to help each child:
1. Learn simple Scriptural truths about God, Jesus, and the Bible
2. Know that the Bible is a special book that tells about God and Jesus
3. Think of MDO as a happy place where they will feel love and security
4. Develop a sense of their value to God
5. Make progress in solving problems, sharing, and expressing his/her feelings
6. Begin to show love, respect, and acceptance for others
7. Learn that God created the world and everything in it
These objectives and concepts are taught through the following activities: Bible study, art, play with blocks, reading books, home and family living, group time, outdoor play, music, and exploring nature.
MDO teachers use the WEE Learn Christian Curriculum. Daily lessons and activities are based around this curriculum. WEE Learn provides children the opportunity to learn about God's world and how to live in it.
Rhonda Ezzell has been the Director at MDO since 1994. Prior to that, she taught at MDO for 4 years in the older 2 year old class. She is certified by TDPRS as a qualified Director.
MDO teachers are mature Christians chosen by God to teach His children. They are loving and patient with the children. They are trained in emergency First Aid with Rescue Breathing and Pediatric Choking. They take 15 hours or more of continuing education classes each school year in early childhood education. Each teacher plans and schedules their lesson plans for the day using the WEE Learn curriculum. Other activities may be used if approved by the director.
Tuition 2009-2010
Tuition is due one month in advance, on the first teaching day of the month. You are not charged for scheduled holidays during the year; however, no credit is given for days missed for any other reason. Drop-Ins are not allowed. Tuition is calculated at the following rates (assuming all children in the same family):
As an example: a family with 2 children who attend MDO 2 days per week = $266.00 per month tuition
Activities Fee
A number of activities throughout the year involve costs not covered by tuition. This is a one-time fee, and is non-refundable, even though a particular child may be absent for one or more activities. The fee is $50.00 per year for each child (no family discounts).
- Center Time: home living, books, blocks, puzzles, etc.
- Art Activities
- Music
- Snack
- Outdoor Play
- Seat Work: colors, shapes, letters, numbers, etc.
- Lunch
- Rest Time
The number of children in a class and their ages has been established so that each child has the opportunity to participate in an age appropriate activity. The teacher to child ratio is low, and each class has a very small age range: i.e. young 2's, middle 2's, older 2's, etc.
