Everywhere I turn, I see anger at what is going on in Washington. I took a two day trip to a small town that is southwest of New Orleans. Everywhere I stopped, I heard people speaking angrily about what is going on in Washington. It led me to quiet reflection about how do I live in the post health care days as a follower of the Lord Jesus Christ.
-
Faith in Jesus Christ – my confidence in never in Washington or anyone else. Washington may pass the laws, but Jesus Christ rules the world
-
-
Prayer – when difficult days come, we go to our Lord in heaven and asked for his help.
-
-
Rejoice – Bible says “consider it all joy my brethren we you encounter various trials (I think Washington falls under “various trials”)
-
-
Keep serving others – that is our call in Jesus Christ – it may be more of a need in the coming days
-
-
Read the Scriptures – for we get our encouragement from the Scriptures (not from Fox News, CNN news, or MSNBC news)
-
-
Love my family and friends – Washington has no control over this – I can do this on my own.
-
-
Stop grumbling – James 5:9 – Do not grumbling against one another, so that you may not be judged.
-
-
Micah 6:8 He has told you, O man, what is good; And what does the Lord require of you But to do justice, to love kindness, And to walk humbly with your God? (Washington has no understanding of justice, kindness or humility; but the question is “Do I?”
We cannot expect Washington to walk correctly, until we as a people walk correctly.
