Welcome to Village Parkway Baptist Church! We are excited to have the opportunity to minister to you and your family. Our prayer is that the information contained in this web site will assist you in finding a church home for your family - a place to fellowship, worship, and grow. |
Where is Village Parkway located?
We are located at the corner of Culebra Road and Village Parkway, approximately a mile and a half outside of Loop 410 and about three miles inside Loop 1604. Go to map.
When are Worship Services held?
Our worship services offer a strong combination of solid biblical teaching and dynamic worship each Sunday. Our contemporary service at 9:30am is led by Todd Sparrow and our Praise Band. Our more traditional service at 10:45 is led by Malcolm Grainger, our Minister of Music and Worship, along with our Sanctuary Choir and Orchestra. Dr. Steve Branson, our Pastor, delivers messages in both services which are both challenging and relevant. We also offer a Prayer service on Wednesday nights in our Fellowship Hall at 6:30pm. Visit our "Sermons Online" page under "Pastor" to listen to our pastor's most recent sermons.

What are your Sunday School classes?
Sunday School classes offer, for visitors and members alike, an opportunity to meet new people in a small-group setting and grow deeper in their faith. Classes are offered on Sunday mornings at 9:30am and 10:45am for children, youth, and single and married adults of all ages. For more details or to find the right classes for your family, click on the tab titled Ministries from the top menu.

Do you offer child care?
At Village Parkway, we care about our children and strive to offer care and learning that will demonstrate the love of Christ for each child. During the 9:30 hour, children take part in Sunday School classes that are age-appropriate, or in the Nursery. During the 10:45 hour, Pre-K thru 3th graders participate in Kids R.O.C.K. (Relying On Christ the King) Children's Church, where children learn elements of worship such as singing and Scripture reading in a format that matches their developmental stage. Children between 4th grade thru 6th grade participate in a combined Sunday School where they memorize Bible verses and learn bible truths through stories about God's people found in Scripture.

How do I become a Christian?
Romans 10:9-10 says, "that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved; for with the heart man believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation."
It is as simple as that. You can find a fuller, written explanation on our "About God" page. If you have just prayed and confessed faith in God, please call to let us know. Our phone number is (210) 680-7813.

How do I join?
Village Parkway Baptist Church is a family of believers in Jesus Christ. You can become a member in one of four ways:
- Accepting Jesus as your Lord and Savior and being baptized by immersion
- If you have already accepted Jesus, but have not been baptized by immersion, then by following Him in believer's baptism
- Transfer of membership by letter from another Southern Baptist Church
- Statement of having previously accepted Christ and experienced baptism by immersion as a member of another Baptist church
For those who desire to join in any one of these ways, an invitation is offered at the conclusion of each worship service. A pastor will be happy to speak with you about your decision, and a counselor will work with you to gather all needed information. We are blessed to have you become a part of our family here at Village Parkway!
